Mr. Narsingh Bahadur Shrestha passed away on April 23, 2007 Monday at the age of 82. He was the Promoter, Former Chairman and Former Advisor to the Board of Directors of Himalayan Bank Limited. He was the chairman of the Bank from 1996 to 1999. His gentle attire, farsightedness, multidimensional personality and aspiring leadership qualities were instrumental in pushing the Bank where it is today.
Mr. Shrestha pioneered Nepalese construction industry into organized sector. Mr. Shrestha was also actively involved in Tourism Sector.
Mr. Shrestha was further involved in various social activities especially in the promotion of Nepali literature after he retired as the Chairman of the Bank. Mr. Shrestha was the Chairman of Nepal Sanskrit Sangh and was actively engaged towards completion of a documentary on Late Laxmi Prasad Devkota (one of the great poets of Nepal), before he got bed ridden due to Diabetes and Chest Infection.
Mr. Shrestha is survived by his wife, 2 sons and 7 daughters.

Mohan Gopal Khetan, the founder member of Himalayan Bank Limited, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the age of 61. He was an entrepreneur for decades and has contributed a great deal to the Nepalese business community and the society at large. Mr.Khetan, a prominent businessman, preached prosperity to a burgeoning Nepalese middle-class via a business empire he built. More than anything, Mr. Khetan was a man committed to the Nepalese society evident from the contributions he made. His demise is a great loss to Himalayan Bank and the Nepalese business fraternity.
Mr. Khetan is survived by his two sons and two daughters.
